A month left to go for HoR and Provincial Assembly elections
The House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly elections are now a month away.
The twin elections are slated on November 20.
The Election Commission, the Government of Nepal and the concerned sides are delivering on necessary and preparatory works in view of the upcoming elections.

Newly appointed United States (US) Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson has said that Nepal and the US stood at an important juncture to address most pressing issues of today.
Issuing a statement after presenting his credentials to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday, he said, “Right now is an important moment for our countries, and I look forward to working with all Nepalis to address the most pressing issues of our time.”
The Ambassador presented his credentials to President Bhandari amidst a special program organized at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, this afternoon.
UML Chair Oli engages with general public via phone calls
CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has started to engage with the general public via phone calls from Friday.
Oli picked a number from bowls filled with telephone/mobile numbers of people willing to talk to him and had dropped their numbers to the CPN UML.
The interaction session took place at the party office in Lalitpur’s Chyasal.
Current coalition is national need: PM Deuba
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba asserted that the current coalition was the national need.
Inaugurating the provincial level assembly of the party cadres organized by the five-party coalition Gandaki Province Committee Pokhara today, PM Deuba clarified that the current coalition was meant for protection of constitution, stability and prosperity in the country.
Country receives Rs 187 billion remittance
Remittance worth Rs 187 billion has been received in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
As per the data until the second month of the current fiscal year published by Nepal Rastra Bank today, remittance inflow has increased by 19.8 per cent to Rs 187.04 billion in the review period against a decrease of 5.8 percent in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Nepal sees 54 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours
Nepal recorded a total of 54 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Friday.
Of the confirmed cases, 48 were detected through the RT-PCR method and six through Antigen method.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 2,480 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
As many as 1,013 samples were tested through RT-PCR method and 1,467 through Antigen method.
