Madhyabindu municipality sets up breastfeeding room

KAWASOTI: A breastfeeding room has been set up at Madhyabindu municipality of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta east).

The municipality brought the breastfeeding room set up at the citizen service center of administrative building into operation from Friday.

Mayor Bhim Lal Adhikari said the breastfeeding room was set up with an objective of helping to improve health of babies and mothers visiting the municipality.

He shared, “Earlier, mothers who used to visit the municipality for various services had to face problems to breastfeed their babies in lack of a separate room.”

“The municipality set up the breastfeeding room for the convenience of mothers and babies. Earlier, the mothers who visited the municipality along with their babies felt uncomfortable to breastfeed their babies in open space. Now, it will be comfortable to the mothers for the same”, he opined.

Arrangement of a bed, baby cradle, soap and water has been made at the breastfeeding room, according to the municipality.
