Cricketer Lamichhane being produced in court today

KATHMANDU: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who was arrested on rape charges, is being produced in court on Thursday as well.

Sources said Lamichhane will be produced at the court today.

The Kathmandu District Court had on October 13 granted permission to detain cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who was arrested on rape charges, for seven days for investigation.

The deadline for the investigation ended on Wednesday.

Lamichhane was accused of rape while he was abroad.

He returned to Nepal almost after a month after the arrest warrant was issued against him.

Although he had said he would surrender, the police arrested him at Tribhuvan International Airport soon after his arrival.

A teenage girl has alleged Sandeep of rape.

The police will be able to detain Sandeep for a maximum of 24 days for investigation.
