NC not to include recently-nominated central members in PR list

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided not to include leaders recently nominated to the Central Committee and the chiefs of the sister organizations in the Proportional Representation (PR).

They are required to contest the elections under the first-past-the-post category.

The party had nominated 10 women leaders to the party’s central committee on August 16.

Nepali Congress had nominated Kiran Yadav (Mahottari), Radha Ghale (Kathmandu), Dhana Khatiwada (Lalitpur), Urmila Thapalia (Dhading), Rukmini Koirala (Morang), Kalyani Rijal (Kathmandu), Goma Bhattarai (Jhapa), Ganga Shahi (Rupandehi), Laxmi Khatiwada (Sunsari) and Sita Devkota (Nawalpur) to the central committee.

Similarly, Dujang Sherpa was nominated as the President of the Nepal Student Union, Bidhwan Gurung as President of Nepal Tarun Dal, Usha Kumari Raut Mishra as President of Nepal Women’s Association and Om Bahadur Thapa Magar as President of Nepal National Magar Association.
