Citizenship Bill: Writ filed at SC against President Bhandari



KATHMANDU: A writ has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) against President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

A writ was filed in the SC against the President for not authenticating the Citizenship Bill as per the Constitutional provision.

Sunil Ranjan Singh and others filed a petition saying that President Bhandari committed a “violation of parliamentary supremacy and the Constitution” by rejecting the citizenship bill, which was passed by both Houses of the Federal Parliament.

SC Spokesperson Bimal Paudel confirmed the filing of the writ.
