Seven die and ten go missing in Achham landslide

ACHHAM: Seven people have died and 10 people have gone missing in Achham due to landslides after continuous rains.

According to Achham police chief DSP Narayan Dangi at least five houses in Kamalbazar Municipality, Turmakhand and Dhakari Rural Municipality have been destroyed by landslides.

Nine members of the same family have gone missing after a landslide destroyed two houses in Kadachaur, Turmakhand. Two bodies were recovered from the site.

DSP Dangi informed that the bodies of four people buried in the landslide in Kamalbazar-6 have been recovered and the search for three missing people is underway.

Similarly, one person died and two others were injured when the house  Hark Bahadur Budha’s house in Dhakari- 6, Simane got damaged by the landslide.
