Balen’s 100 days: Mayor recalls some “worth-mentioning” tasks

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has mentioned some of his major works accomplished “worth recalling” in the last 100 days.

Taking to social media on the occasion of his 100 days in office, Mayor Shah said that the demolishment of illegally-built structures had been his priority.

He mentioned seven references to what he said: “touched my mind”.

“Our work will give results only if people get positive energy and feel the change,” he said.

“We are not in a 100-day race but have a five-year plan. We are ready to bear insults and criticism for some time,” Balen said.

Among them, he has mentioned the removal of corn vendors on the footpath, budget allocation for e-sports, construction of rapper Yama Buddha’s statue, and his effort to dismantle the illegally-built structure, among others.

“It does not matter how I evaluate my work. It is more meaningful how people have evaluated and evaluating and my work,” he said.

He said the work that the KMC has been doing under his leadership would start yielding results only if people get positive energy and feel a change.

“KMC worked consciously abiding by the scope, duty and authority that has been given to it,” he has said.
