Two arrested with counterfeit notes



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have arrested two persons with counterfeit currency.

Police team deployed from Area Police Office Dakshinkali arrested Pramod Thakur, 26, and Ganga Kumar Yadav, 25, of of Sarlahi Busbaria Rural Municipality-3.

They were riding a motorcycle (Na 34 Pa 5570) from Sarlahi to Kathmandu.

Kathmandu District Police Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police Niranjan Datta Bhatta said that Thakur and Yadav were arrested with 27 counterfeit notes of Rs 1,000 denomination.

According to Bhatta, Thakur and Yadav have been remanded to judicial custody for seven days by the District Court, Kathmandu. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
