Ward Chairperson arrested on rape charge in Baitadi



DHANGADHI: A ward chairperson has been arrested in Baitadi on charges of rape.

Police have arrested Ward Chairman of Melauli Municipality-1 Sharad Singh Negi and local Keshav Singh.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi, Inspector Lokraj Joshi said that an investigation was initiated on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim.

Police spokesperson Joshi said that both of them were taken under control on Tuesday on the basis of the victim’s complaint.

Negi was elected from the UML in the local level election held on May 13.
