Jeep carrying Minister Mahaseth submerges in stream

KATHMANDU: A jeep carrying Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth got submerged in the middle of a stream as he was returning after laying a foundation stone of a bridge.

Minister Mahaseth had reached Arjun Chaupari Rural Municipality in Syangja on Monday to lay a foundation stone for a bridge over Darau stream.

According to police, the jeep, Ba 2 Jha 4029, got stuck in the middle of the stream. He was rescued by police and taken to safety. The jeep was taken out from the stream by security personnel.

The incident site is located some 22 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
