Confusions as House panel directs PSC to cancel vacancy announcement



KATHMANDU: Confusions are rife among applicants after the State Affairs Committee (SAC) directed the Public Service Commission (PSC) to cancel the vacancy announced for over 9,000 posts.

Some 73,113 aspirants have filed applications for various posts till Monday after the commission published an advertisement calling for vacancies.

According to PSC Spokesperson Kiranraj Sharma, 72,295 have filed an application under the open category, 17,939 under woman, 8,655 under Janajati, 4,129 under Madhesi, 538 under Dalit, 41 under differently-able and 19 under backward area categories.

The commission said it would take a necessary decision after it receives a formal letter from the House panel.

“We are yet to receive a formal letter on the decision made by the committee. A decision will be taken after necessary discussions,” said Spokesperson Sharma.

He claimed that the vacancy announcement was in line with the constitution and existing laws.

Although the commission said that it will take a decision soon, confusions are rife among the applicants on what happens next.
