KATHMANDU: It has taken 32 hours to count 2,424 votes at Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-1 in Kathmandu district.

A total of 3,100 votes were cast in the municipality-1 and vote count is underway, said municipal election officer Sharada Raut.

The vote count started at 2 am on Saturday after the May 13 local election concluded on Friday, he said, adding that the vote count in the ward will conclude by today evening.

Lack of space at the office of the election officer has been blamed for the delay.

Discussions are underway to find additional space for the vote count, he said.
