Ruling coalition holding meeting today

To dwell on electoral alliance



KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has called a meeting at 11 am today.

The meeting scheduled for today will dwell on an electoral alliance for the upcoming local level elections and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s India visit, sources have said.

Prime Minister is leaving for India on Friday.

A central working committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) had decided to forge an electoral alliance with the coalition parties based on the local circumstances and necessity.

The coaling meeting is taking place first time after the NC’s CWC meeting.

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal have been saying that they should continue the alliance until the local level elections.

CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has said the meeting will forge an electoral alliance in metropolitan and sub metropolitan cities on Thursday.

Talking to mediapersons in Bharatpur today, Prachanda said, “The coalition meeting is taking place on Thursday. We will discuss an alliance for the elections in metropolis and sub metropolis and come up with a decision.”

Meanwhile, Prachanda has said the Maoist Center will stake a claim for the post of mayor in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

The local level election is being held on May 13.
