Press Council Chair Basnet feted in Dolakha



KATHMANDU: Press Council Nepal Chairman Bal Krishna Basnet has been honored at Charikot, in Dolakha, on Tuesday.

In recognition of Basnet’s long journalistic career during which he worked for the people’s rights, Gaurishankar Multiple Campus, one of the oldest and largest educational institutions in Dolakha, honored Basnet on its 40th anniversary.

Chief Guest and Founding Chairman of the campus Atma Krishna Shrestha honored Basnet with a shawl and a letter of appreciation.

Dolakha is also Press Council Chair Basnet’s birth district. He was born in Bishnutole, Bhimeshwar Municipality-5.

Basnet started his career as a journalist in 2052 BS and joined Kantipur Publications in 2057 BS. After actively working in Kantipur Daily for about 20 years as a journalist, he reached the top post of the Nepali media regulatory body nine months ago.
