Mercury goes up across country; Valley records 31.3 degree

KATHMANDU: There is no significant weather system in the country, currently. The weather is partly cloudy in the hilly terrain and generally fair in the rest parts of the country.

Meteorological Forecasting Division has said the temperature is on the upward trend, of late.

According to the Division, the temperature was recorded at 31.3 degree Celsius in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday, the highest temperature after the winter season. Earlier on March 15, the temperature was recorded at 31.1 degree.

It was recorded at 28.7 degree on March 21 last year, the highest of that year.

According to Indira Kandel, a meteorologist, the temperature is ever rising in the eastern part of Nepal. The minimum and maximum temperature is increasing more than an average, said Kandel.

The highest temperature was recorded at 37.2 degree Celsius in Dharan followed by Janakpur with 37 degree yesterday. Similarly, it was recorded at 36.8 degree in Bhairahawa.
