One dead, two households displaced in Fungling fire

Property worth over Rs 6.9 million damaged



KATHMANDU: A fire that broke out at Kopche Tole at Fungling Municipality in Taplejung district on Friday morning killed a woman and displaced two households.

According to the Nepal Red Cross Society, property worth over Rs 6.9 million was damaged in the blaze. Society’s representative Arjun Karki shared that the fire erupted and spread at around 8:30 in the morning.

It took security personnel, fire brigade and locals around an hour and half to douse the fire, said the District Police Office, Taplejung.
