14 injured, five critically as teacher thrashes students

KATHMANDU: Fourteen students were injured after a teacher beat them in a fit of rage at Bhanu Basic School in Rumtigadhi Rural Municipality in Rolpa.

Five of them got their hands broken in the inhumane beating, a report in Radjhani daily said.

Laxmi Pun, a teacher at the school, thrashed them on the charge of coming to school late.

The injured are from grade one to eight. Bhim Kumari Batha, Nirmala Pun, Gauri Gharti, Shanta Nepalil and Bimala Roka are among those injured got their hands broken and were hospitalized at Sahara Policlinic in Tulsipur, Dang.
