KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed at 2,543.39 after losing 3.66 points on Sunday, the first day of the week.

The NEPSE index opened at 2,542.57 today and made the intraday high of 2,568.11 points while it went as low as 2,528.15 to ultimately close at 2,543.39 points.

A total of 5,139,239 shares of 230 companies were traded via 45,622 transactions resulting in a turnover of Rs. 2.49 billion today. The total turnover today is lower than that of last Wednesday’s — Rs. 3.62 billion.

Shivan Cements Ltd recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 152 million on Sunday, closing at a market price of Rs 1,085 per share. Shivam Cements stood as the biggest loser today going down by 7.11%.

Four sector indices gained while nine others closed red. Development Bank gained the highest 1.24% and Manufacturing And Processing lost the highest 2.08%.
