Police warn to take action against violators of privacy



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has expressed its concerns in the videos, photos and ideas being made public by abusing technology in connection with the arrest of an actor on the charge of raping a minor singer.

Issuing a statement on Friday, the cyber bureau of the police warned that it will take action against the perpetrators of such activities violating the privacy of the victims.

Stating that there is a tendency to have a negative impact on the social and mental health of the victims, the bureau has said that such activities will be prosecuted in accordance with the prevailing law under Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008.

Police also said that such activities would hamper the investigation.
