KATHMANDU: The Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has increased the price of milk.
Organizing a press conference yesterday, the DDC informed that the price of milk was increased by Rs 9 per liter.
Currently, it costs Rs 76 per liter and the increased price will be effective from today, Friday. It will then cost Rs 85 per liter of milk.
The meeting of the Board of Directors at DDC had taken this decision on Wednesday. As per the Board’s decision, the price hike is, however, different depending on location.
Accordingly, Rs 85 is fixed for the Kathmandu Valley, Hetauda, Biratnagar and Janakpur cities, while Rs 81 for Butwal and Bhairahawa cities, and Rs 79 in Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.
In the increased price, farmers will be benefitted by Rs 6.52 and the industrialists with Rs 2.88.
