NEPSE loses 22.03 points to close at 2,813.52 on Wednesday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost 22.03 points, closing at 2,813.52 points on Wednesday, contrary to investors’ belief that the announcement of local level election date would see record highs in the share market.

Today saw second-day consecutive fall in Nepse following Monday’s announcement of local level election date i.e. May 13. NEPSE declined by 16.30 points to close at 2,835 points on Tuesday.

As many as 6,520,628 shares of 223 companies were traded via 45,112 transactions, resulting in a turnover of about Rs 3.4 billion on Wednesday. The turnover stood at over Rs 6 billion on Tuesday and the same was Rs 5.2 billion on Monday.

Similarly, Sensitive index closed at 528.99 points, losing  3.51 points; Float index is at 191.90 points, and the Sensitive Float index was at 168.86 points after the market closed today with all 13 sub-indices closing red.

Liberty Energy Company, Arambha Chautari Microfinance, Janautthan Samudayic Microfinance and Life Insurance Corporation Nepal are the top gainers for the day whereas the top losers are Bhuddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower, Nepal SBI Bank Debenture 2086, Everest Insurance Company promoter shareholders and Nepal Hydro Developers.
