Pakistani national attempting to smuggle currencies of several nations out of Nepal arrested from TIA



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a Pakistani national along with currencies of several nations that he was about to smuggle out of Nepal.

The arrested has been identified as Hafiz Atiq Ar Rahman, 33, carrying Pakistani national passport number AJ1469133.

He was arrested Friday afternoon from the international departure terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport as he was to board a Flydubai flight to Dubai. In course of regular handbag screening at the airport for passengers, Saudi riyal 47,150; United Arab Emirates dirham 400; Omani riyal 5.5 and Indian 100 rupees was found in his handbag.

According to the International Airport Security Office, he has been sent to Department of Revenue Investigation at Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk, in Lalitpur, for necessary investigation and legal action.
