Peace, good governance and prosperity real tribute to martyrs: President Bhandari  



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said it would be a true tribute to the martyrs to ensure durable peace, good governance, development and prosperity in the country by effectively implementing the federal democratic republic achieved with the sacrifices of martyrs.

Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Martyrs Day today, President Bhandari wished the Day inspired all to work devotedly to realize the dream of the martyrs.

The martyrs had sacrificed their lives for the rights of the people and country.

All sides should contribute from their sides to build an equitable and civilized society by highly respecting the contribution of the martyrs.

She also reminded the role played by the martyrs at different movements as Shukra Raj Shastri, Dharmabhakta Mathema, Dasharath Chand and Ganga Lal Shrestha.

Martyrs Day is observed today, Magh 16, every year, commemorating the contribution of the martyrs of different democratic movements in the country.
