Nepal sees 6,827 new coronavirus cases, 10 deaths in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 6,827 new cases of coronavirus and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours as of Friday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 4,807 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 2,020 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 2,123 cases in Kathmandu, 268 in Bhaktapur and 519 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the valley to 2,910 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there were 15 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,697 to date.

Currently, there are 89,941 active cases in the country.

In the past 24-hour period, 5,432 infected patients recovered.
