DIG Thada Magar bags APF Best Brigade Award



KATHMANDU: The Best Brigade Award has been conferred on Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Armed Police Force (APF) Ganesh Thada Magar.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba conferred the Best Brigade Award on DIG Thada Magar, the chief of the Chhinna Masta Brigade, amid a program held at the headquarters in Halchowk on the occasion of 21st Anniversary of the APF on Sunday.

Chhinna Masta Brigade of the APF, which is based at Bardibas in Mahottari district of Madhesh Pradesh, was announced as the best brigade of this year on the basis of its performance.

Conferring the ward, Prime Minister Deuba loaded the APF for its excellent services and professionalism dedicated towards citizens’ services and securities.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Deuba appreciated the APF for its roles played in the sector of citizens’ services, border security, election security of various levels, relief and rescue operations carried out in the 2015 mega earthquake and other natural disasters, contribution made towards the COVID-19 infected people through the dedicated COVID hospitals, control of cross-border movements and the management of quarantines.

Aside from Prime Minister Deuba, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma, APF IGP Shailendra Khanal among high-ranking officials were present in the ceremony.
