District Hospital Sankhuwasabha halts services but emergency due to COVID-19

SANKHUWASABHA: The District Hospital here has closed all services except emergency ones after its eight health workers tested positive for coronavirus.

Medical superintendent Dr Yogendra Mani Basnet informed that the health services were halted for a week from Monday after the health workers were found infected during the antigen test. Now, only emergency service, delivery service and fever clinic are open.

However, the District Health Office has informed that the anti-COVID vaccination drive would be continued in the district. With the beginning of the third wave of coronavirus, the number of active infection in the district has reached 141. So far, 47 have got recovery.

Similarly, the District Prison has prohibited people from meeting inmates for a week in view of the growing cases of coronavirus infection, according to jailer Binod Adhikari.

The locals have demanded the administration that it intensified coronavirus test as many people were facing flu-like symptoms.
