Waling municipality manages free COVID-19 tests, food, medicines to infected people

WALING: Waling Municipality in Syangja district has managed free of cost COVID-19 tests, food and medicines to the infected people.

Those infected and admitted to the primary health facility at the municipality can have free food and medicines, said municipality mayor Dilip Pratap Khand, also chair of the hospital management committee.

“Infection rate is high in Waling too. We have managed free food, snacks and medicines to the infected people,” he said.

The health facility has managed 50 beds, medical equipment including filled oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators and health workers standby in view of increasing infection rate, he said.

“We are cautious of health sensitivity of the citizens here. Saving their lives is our first priority,” he said. Those visiting the health facility will get antigen test for free, said the health branch chief Kamal Prasad Pandey, adding that at present, seven infected people are receiving treatment at the health facility. Those infected people with normal health condition have been asked to stay in home-isolation and report to the hospital if they show any health problems, he said.

The Municipality has also urged its people to get vaccinated against the virus and follow the health safety protocols.
