Nepal sees 10,258 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

Kathmandu valley sees 5,549 cases in 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 10,258 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

Monday saw 6,734 new cases. Compared to Monday, 3,524 more cases have been added Tuesday, with the daily count crossing the 10,000 mark.

Of the confirmed cases today, 8,730 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 1,528 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 4,004 cases in Kathmandu, 570 in Bhaktapur and 975 in Lalitpur, taking the total cases in the valley to 5,549 in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there was one coronavirus-related death reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,624 to date.

There are 39044 active cases Tuesday against 30,877 active cases on Monday.

In the past 24-hour period, 547 infected patients recovered.
