Valley becoming hotspot of Omicron variant

KATHMANDU: Cases of Omicron have increased in an alarming rate in the Kathmandu Valley, becoming the hotspot of third wave of COVID-19 cases.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population, as many as 3,075 people were infected with the COVID-19 in the country in a single day on Wednesday.

Of them, Kathmandu recorded 1,498 cases alone, said the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, 1,128 were infected with the coronavirus in Kathmandu, 134 in Bhaktapur and 236 in Lalitpur.

With this the number of COVID-19 cases have crossed 11,000-mark in the Kathmandu Valley alone and two infected have succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
