Pre-scheduled exams will not be postponed: Ministry

KATHMANDU:  The Ministry of Education has informed that pre-scheduled examinations of Tribhuvan University (TU) will not be affected by the Ministry’s decision to postpone classes till January 29.

Speaking to media after the meeting of the senior officials at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Monday, Spokesperson Deepak Sharma informed that the government has decided to close schools across the country from Tuesday.

The ministry decided to close the school from tomorrow following the recommendation of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC).

“However, the pre-scheduled semester and annual examinations of the Tribhuvan University will be conducted in Z-shape by adopting health criteria,” Spokesperson Sharma said.

He informed that the decision of shutting down the schools has been taken keeping in view the wide-spreading coronavirus cases.

Sharma added that the educational institutions will manage to recover the academic activities of the period by converting January 11 – 15 closure into winter vacation.
