Palpa district hospital shuts down services due to COVID-19



PALPA: The Palpa-based district hospital has shut down of services, excluding the emergency ones. The service disruption came after some employees of the hospital were diagnosed with coronavirus.

Hospital Development Committee Chair Netra Prasad Pandey shared that nine out of 10 working staff of the hospital, including acting medical superintendent were detected with coronavirus.

Issuing a notice, the hospital said that all the services, excluding maternity services, lab, safe abortion and recommendation service have been completely shut.

The contagion was diagnosed with the medical superintendent, six medical officers, one dental surgeon, one paramedics and one lab technician of the hospital. “As all of them have to stay in isolation, there was no option but to shut the services”, Pandey added. The district has witnessed surge in the rate of coronavirus infection, of late.
