Schools closed to escape cold wave

BIRGUNJ: The Jirabhawani Rural Municipality in Parsa district had decided to close all the academic institutions due to cold wave.

Issuing a notice on Sunday, the rural municipality announced closure of institutional and community schools until January 8.

Likewise, the Birgunj Metropolitan City has provided warm clothes to the senior citizens. Under its public welfare plan, the metropolitan city distributed blanket, net, umbrella and torchlight to the senior citizens in all 32 wards.

Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi said that the senior citizens would feel relief from the support. The metropolitan officials said that each individual was provided with goods worth Rs 6,000.
