UML leader Rawal objects to his nomination to Central Advisory Council member

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Dr. Bhim Rawal has objected to being nominated to the post of Central Advisory Council member.

Responding to the UML‘s attempt to comfort the disgruntled leader Rawal by appointing him as central advisory council member, Dr. Rawal objected to the culture of nominating rather than getting them elected.

“I heard that I have been made a member of the Central Advisory Council of the CPN-UML. If this is true, it is offensive to nominate me on a post without asking me,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday, adding, “Such system of nominating an individual rather than organizing a democratic method of selection through election is objectionable.”

Dr. Rawal, who was defeated in the tenth general convention by contesting for the post of chairman, has announced that he would not even sit on the party’s central committee.
