‘Women should assert their constitutionally guaranteed rights’



POKHARA: Deputy-Speaker of Gandaki Province, Srijana Sharma has noted that women should assert their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Inaugurating the district-level women workshop organized by the Gender and Social Inclusion Committee of Kaski chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society, at Pokhara today, Deputy Speaker Sharma said women should be united to push campaign for their rights.

She pointed out the need to assuring 33 percent of women participation in every sector, adding that women should play an intervening role politically, socially, and economically for their engagement and empowerment.

Stating that Red Cross has been playing a significant role in the relief and rescue of those in need, the Deputy Speaker urged women to take the proactive initiative to be elected to the top post in future local elections.

Similarly, Vice-President of Kaski chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society, Danda Raj Sharma, shared that the Red Cross has dedicated itself to serving humanity even in and aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 96 women are participating in a daylong training.
