 Defeated Gachchhadar files application demanding recount of votes



KATHMANDU: Vice Presidential candidate of the Nepali Congress Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has called for recounting of votes after he lost the election by a narrow margin.

After losing by two votes as per the vote-count results on Wednesday night, Gachchhadar from the establishment panel has filed an application at the Election Committee seeking recount.

Leader Dhanraj Gurung of the Shekhar Koirala panel won the election with 1,908 votes while Gachchhadar got 1,906 votes.

Purna Bahadur Khadka of the establishment faction has already been elected as the vice president of the NC.
