Leftist parties popular: CPN-Unified Socialist Chair Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal has said leftist parties are popular in Nepal.

In his address to a training session organized by the party’s Bagmati Province Committee in the capital Wednesday, he said his decision to form the party by splitting from the CPN (UML) was for strengthening the leftist movement and urged the bodies concerned not to worry over the matter. He was of the view that those in the party leadership should pay heed to enhance the country’s sovereignty and make the people happy.

Leader Nepal also directed the party people to gear up for the party expansion campaign.

“Change is possible by making the mass aware and organized.” The former Prime Minister claimed that party’s charm among the masses was increasing.

On a different note, the leader of one of the coalition partners said that leftist and democratic forces are together to protect the glory of political revolution. “Not only Sher Bahadur Deuba, but also other leaders of Nepali Congress wish to go with the existing political alliance.”
