KATHMANDU: A 20-year-old woman has gone missing while two others were injured after a landslide struck Tamsu in Triveni Municipality-9 of Bajura district.
The missing woman has been identified as 20-year-old Pratikshya Thapa of Triveni Municipality-9.
Locals Dharma Thapa and Dhauli Devi Rawal were injured in the landslide.
According to Naresh Bahadur Shahi, information officer at the District Police Office, Thapa sustained injuries to her left leg and body, while Rawal suffered injuries to her head, leg and body. Both injured individuals have been brought to District Hospital Martadi for treatment.
The landslide, triggered by incessant rainfall, completely destroyed the houses of local residents Dharma Thapa and Karna Bahadur Thapa.
Pratikshya, Dharma Thapa’s daughter, remains missing after being buried by the landslide.
A police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shaileshwari Bohara has been deployed to search for her.
Personnel from the Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and local residents are also involved in the search and rescue operation.
