We will adopt the policy of struggle and collaboration in the party: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and General Secretary candidate in the 14th General Convention Gagan Thapa has said that the team advocating for the transformation in the party will adopt the policy of struggle and collaboration while working with Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Speaking at a program organized by Dr. Shekhar Koirala’s team to thank delegates, leader Thapa remarked that the team would urge the party president to abide by NC principles and guidelines rather than the personal whims.

“We will adopt the policy to support the leadership as well as it is guided by the party principles and will oppose every decision or activity that is directed by personal whims and personal benefit of the party President,” he clarified, adding, “We will be the watchdogs observing the performance the leadership and will make them correct the course when they go out of track. Dr. Koirala will play a lead in it.”

Referring to the CPN-UML’s 10th General Convention held in Chitwan as a fake show as the mass of thousands of delegates just witnessed party Chair KP Oli pick names and read it out rather than letting them choose the leadership, leader Thapa expressed his happiness at the healthy contest that took place in the NC General Convention.
