Two Nepalis-run jewelry stores looted in Aldershot, UK



KATHMANDU: Two jewelry stores run by Nepalis in the United Kingdom have been looted Thursday night.

The robbery took place at Anugraha Jewelers and New Laxmi Jewelry in Aldershot, an area densely populated by ​​Nepalis, of Hampshire, England, at around 3 am Thursday.

According to local Rushmore Borough Councilor Jib Belbase, the robbers broke the store shutters using their vehicle and looted jewelry from the stores. Upon arrival of the police, the robbers fled the scene by abandoning the vehicle.

According to Bachaspati Regmi, chair of local Shiva Cultural and Community Center, the area has been cordoned off by police and unauthorized entry restricted. Regmi added detailed information, including the loss incurred, has not been received so far.

Local police are investigating the incident.
