How Chinese nationals abscond from Thamel without paying rents



KATHMANDU: Chinese nationals living in the Thamel and Jyatha areas of Kathmandu have been found to be absconding without paying their rents to the landlords.

Landlords of Thamel and Jyatha areas of the capital city have been facing the problem for the last several months.

The Chinese living in rented houses in the Thamel area are found to have been giving unnecessary mental pressure to the landlords.

A similar incident has taken place in the area recently.

Liu Dongbo, a Chinese national living in the rented house of Surendra Muni Tuladhar, a resident of ward no. 27 (formerly warn. 30) of the metropolis, has absconded without paying the rent.

According to the office of the Municipal Executive of the metropolis, Dongbo had rented Tualdhar’s house built on 12 annas, 3 paisa in Lot No. 2787. He is currently out of contact without paying rent.

A notice has been pasted in the name of the Chinese national to vacate the flats within 15 days.

A local youth said that the Chinese nationals living in the area show reluctance to pay house rent according to the rules.

A significant number of Chinese nationals have been operating restaurants and hotels in Thamel and Jyatha areas in Kathmandu.
