EU Director for Asia and Pacific Pampaloni arrives in Kathmandu for political dialogue



KATHMANDU: European Union’s Director for Asia and the Pacific Paola Pampaloni has landed in Kathmandu Saturday for annual political dialogue with Nepali politicians.

Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal Nona Deprez said Pampaloni is here to participate in the annual political dialogue.

Pampaloni is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka, among other heads of development project.

The EU stated Pampaloni’s dialogue will be constructive and focused on policy formulation, assistance and economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.

A team led by Pampaloni met with National Reconstruction Authority CEO Sushil Gyawali in Bhaktapur today itself.

The EU is engaged in the issues of human rights, democracy and development, besides transitional justice, in Nepal.

Diplomatic visits to Nepal have been increasing of late.
