NC concludes convention of Lalitpur and Syangja province assembly constituencies

LALITPUR: The Nepali Congress (NC) has concluded its convention in all the provincial assembly constituencies of the Lalitpur and Syangja districts.

New leadership has been elected in all the six province assembly constituencies of Lalitpur.

The province assembly conventions held on Friday elected new leadership in these constituencies and selected them unanimously.

In Lalitpur 1 (a) Milan Silwal and (b) Jagat Bahadur have been elected as chairpersons.

Diwakar Nepal has been elected in Lalitpur 2 (a) and Chandraman Maharjan in (b).

In Constituency No. 3 (a), Birendra Maharjan has been elected as the Provincial Assembly Speaker while Surendra Dangol was elected in (b).

Similarly, office bearers including the chairperson have been elected in all the four provincial assemblies of Syangja under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress.

Keshar Bahadur Khan and Prakash Tiwari were elected as the chairpersons of Syangja Constituency No. 1 (a) and Arjun Prasad Khanal and Mahesh Bhattarai have been elected as chairmen of (b) and (b) respectively.

In Syangja 2 (a), Arjun Prasad Khanal won with 327 votes. His rival Bidya Shrestha got 251 votes.

Similarly, in 2 (b), Mahesh Bhattarai won with 382 votes while his rival Kamal Prasad Regmi got 174 votes.
