Chauhan elected NC chair for Ilam-2 (a)



ILAM: Gopal Chauhan has been elected as the chairperson of the Provincial Assembly 2 (a) constituency in the election held in Ilam under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress.

He won with 229 votes. His nearest rival Rajendra Bastola got 160 votes as per the results of the polls announced this morning.
Similarly, Bishnu Subba and Mankumar Gurung have won the post of vice chairs. They received 244 and 235 votes, respectively.
Voting results for other places in the district have not come yet, as counting is underway.

Meanwhile in Myagdi, Kham Bahadur Garbuja was elected unopposed as the district president in the seventh district convention held at the district headquarters Beni.

According to the results made public this morning, Hari Kumar Shrestha and Karna Bahadur Bhandari, Hira Bahadur Pun and Bharat Rakal have been elected as the vice presidents, Shri Ram Poudel and Dhruvaraj Karki as the joint secretaries, said Election Officer Niranjan Rajbhandari.

In Damauli, Bishweshwar Khanal has been elected as the chair of Tanahu Constituency No. 1 (a). Similarly, Indra Bahadur Ale has been elected unopposed as the chair of Constituency No. 2, (b). Counting is underway in Tanahu Constituency No. 1 (b) and Tanahu Constituency No. 2 (a).

In Palpa, Ram Bahadur Rana has been elected unopposed as the president of Nepali Congress Palpa Constituency No. 1, Province (a).
