Miklajung Massacre: This is how 12-year-old survived the attack

KATHMANDU: Sita Khajum, 12, is the sole survivor of the gruesome massacre that claimed lives of nine people at Arubote in Mikaljung Rural Municipality on Monday night.

When a masked man barged into the house at night and started attacking the other family members with a sharp weapon, Khajum narrowly managed to escape the death. She frantically rushed to the house of Kanchhimaya, a grandaunt by relation.

The weather was windy with heavy rains and thunderstorms. She knocked on the door. Khanchhimaya opened the door and Khajun rushed into the house. She told her grandaunt about what happened. That is how she saved her life.
