Cultural importance of Nepal Sambat will be promoted: PM Deuba



LALITPUR: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government will undertake necessary initiatives for the promotion of cultural importance of Nepal Sambat by institutionalizing federal democratic republic.

Inaugurating the cultural rally organised on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1142 New Year at Mangalbazaar of Lalitpur today, PM Deuba laid emphasis on the need of further promoting historicity and importance of Nepal Sambat connected with Nepali culture and people’s sentiments.

He extended best wishes on the occasion of New Year and expressed commitment that the government would pay appropriate attention in its promotion and protection on the basis of suggestions and demands of concerned sides.

The rally was organised under the coordination and sub-coordination of Deula Society and Nepal Khadgi Society respectively.

The rally organised from Mangalbzaar concluded after reaching the same place passing through different places.

On the occasion, Chairperson of Nepal Bhasha Manka Khala Lalitpur, Rishi Prasad Shrestha said that the government should take a concrete step to give recognition to Nepal Sambat Calendar as official calendar as the Nepal Sambat has already got national recognition.
