Bus passengers going home for Tihar festival being vaccinated against COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Ministry of Health and Population has started providing vaccines against coronavirus from today to the passengers going home for the Tihar festival.

Chief of Child Health and Immunization Section of Department of Health Services, Sagar Dahal, said that the Ministry started providing the first dose of vaccine against coronavirus at Gonggabu bus park, Kalanki, Balkhu, and Koteshwor from today targeting the people going home for Tihar.

The vaccine is being administered from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Chief of District Health Office, Kathmandu, Shambhu Kafle, said that volunteers of the Red Cross have been mobilized to administer the vaccine.

“500 doses of vaccines have now been sent at four vaccination centers and additional doses would be provided as per the need,” he added.

Vero Cell and AstraZeneca vaccine would be administered to passengers.

A second dose of vaccine would be provided to them after they return from home. The vaccine would be provided today and tomorrow.
