Province 2 provides additional Rs 500,000 for treatment of acid attack survivor Muskan



KATHMANDU: The Province-2 government has decided to provide additional Rs 500,000 for the treatment of acid attack survivor Muskan Khatun of Birgunj.

A meeting of the council of ministers of Province 2 took such decision Tuesday.

Two youths had attacked Khatun with acid at Ganeshman Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-4 on September 6, 2019. Earlier, the Federal Government had provided Rs 300,000 for the treatment of Khatun. Likewise, Birgunj Metropolitan City had given Rs 200,000 for her treatment while Mayor Bijay Sarawagi made Rs 100,000 contribution from his salary and allowances.

Previously, the Province Government had given Rs 500,000 to acid attack survivor Arati Sah of Janakpur. Meanwhile, the Parsa District Court has ordered to send America Sahani, Chairman of Pakahamainpur Rural Municipality-1, to judicial custody after his arrest for possessing banned drug brown sugar.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Parsa Om Prakash Khanal said that Sahani and Ram Adesh Sahani of the rural municipality were sent to the judicial custody on the same charge.
