KARNALI: The Karnali Province Disaster Management Council has decided to provide a relief of Rs. 100,000 to families who lost a member in the October 12 bus accident.

A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi on Friday decided to provide relief to the bereaved families. Thirty-three people were killed in the Mugu bus accident.

The council also decided to provide relief of one hundred thousand rupees to the families of those killed in road accidents in Mugu and other districts of the province. The meeting has directed the authorities concerned to pay the families who lost members to COVID-19 as per the procedure of relief distribution, according to a press note issued by the Secretariat of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Likewise, the meeting has nominated Bimala KC, Chandra Bahadur Shahi and Him Bahadur Shahi to the post of members of the council as per Karnali Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Rules, 2076 BS.
