Food Management and Trading Company selling goats from today



KATHMANDU: State-owned Food Management and Trading Company (FMTC) has started selling goats for Dashain festival from today.

Information officer of the company Sharmila Neupane (Subedi) said the FMTC is selling goats from Saturday.

Goats will be sold as soon as they are brought. As many as 530 goats have already arrived from Hetauda, said Neupane.

The company is selling goats for Rs 100 less than the price of goats per kg in the local market. It is estimated that around 38,000 goats (including Himalayan goats) will be consumed in the Kathmandu Valley this Dashain.

Around 30,000 goats had been consumed in the previous Dashain festival.
