74 per cent population in valley vaccinated against COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Thirty-three percent of the total population in the country has been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far. The vaccination was conducted as per the target set against coronavirus till October 17.

Similarly, 81 per cent population of Kathmandu Valley– Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur- have already got first dose of vaccine while 74 per cent received full dose of vaccine. There are 2,129,773 people above 18 years in Kathmandu Valley.

Joint-Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, said that 40 percent population has got first dose of vaccine while full dose of vaccine against COVID-19 has been administered to 32 per cent population.

A total of 872,705 people have got first shot of vaccine while 690,164 got full dose of vaccine against coronavirus, he shared. The government has set a target to administer vaccine against COVID-19 to 21,756,763 people above 18 years.
